This article reflects on an artistic practice developed around the mechanisms of control, surveillance and data extraction embedded in contemporary digital infrastructures. Through projects including Keyboard of Things, Inter_fight, F.U.C.K.-ID and FUCK-SD, César Escudero Andaluz explores artistic countertactics such as obfuscation, sabotage, camouflage, mapping and speculative design. Moving from interfaces and data tracking to undersea cables and satellite networks, these works expose the material and political infrastructures behind supposedly immaterial digital systems. Drawing on concepts such as surveillance capitalism, platform capitalism and critical approaches to software and interfaces, the article considers how artistic practice can render visible systems of technological control while creating spaces for resistance, disruption and critical reflection.
